2017 Invitational
Ranch Horse Challenge
H I G H L I G H T S

Our 3rd Annual Ranch Horse Challenge took place on October 7, 2017. With the exception of some breezy conditions Mother Nature provided decent weather for the event. The event showcases: Trail, Reining, and Cow Work for both the novice and open riders and we experienced our largest group of entrants ever with an outstanding level of horses and riders. Highlighting our opening ceremony was Wendy Corr singing the National Anthem. The trail course challenged horses and riders, especially this year’s new water crossing. Linda Bates and Dossie Overfield judged the trail class. We were pleased to have Gordon Hinders judge our Reining classes. Competition was tight with only 1/2 point separating riders in the winning spots. With fresh cattle, the cow work provided challenges for the riders and good viewing for spectators. As usual, we provided breakfast and lunch for competitors as well as a live band and potluck supper following the awards ceremony. With the help of many volunteers, knowledgeable judges, Gary Cooper Performance Horses put on a top shelf event showcasing talented cowgirls and cowboys.
